Position: Group Guyde for Firearms Enthusiasts

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our inclusive firearms enthusiasts’ group. The ideal candidate will be a highly competent instructor and embody our core values of civility, support, and excellence, ensuring a positive and empowering environment for all members.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Group Meetings: Lead and organize regular meetings, ensuring a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to new members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Manage, Train and Develop their leadership team.
- Organize Workshops: Plan and execute skill-building workshops and training sessions tailored to all skill levels.
- Promote Safety: Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and guidelines during group activities.
- Encourage Participation: Motivate members to actively participate in discussions, activities, and events.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate any conflicts that arise within the group, maintaining harmony and respect.
- Community Building: Foster a sense of community and camaraderie among members, promoting mutual support and respect.
- Administrative Duties: Manage group logistics, including scheduling, communication, and record-keeping.
- Continually seek out further instruction and certifications for professional development and bring back amazing content for members. The expectation is that Group Guydes will earn 1 new instructor certification every year and emailing it to HQ.

To ensure the Group Guyde is highly skilled and can effectively lead and instruct the group, they should be able to pass several skills tests. By having these instructor certifications, the Guyde demonstrates their proficiency in a range of critical areas, ensuring they can provide high-quality instruction and maintain a safe and effective learning environment for all group members. The FBI Qualification must be passed within the first 2 years of becoming a Group Guyde. The following items are what is required as well as suggested.
Group Guyde Minimum Required Certifications and Rationale
- FBI Pistol Qualification Test or Rangemaster Instructor Version (Required within first 2 years)
Rationale: Recognized industry standard that evaluates defensive shooting skills including accuracy, speed, and firearms handling.
– 50 rounds fired at varying distances (3, 5, 7, 15, and 25 yards)
- NRA or USCCA Instructor Pistol Qualification Courses (Required)
Rationale: Demonstrates excellent shooting fundamentals. Group Guyde should be able to pass the NRA or USCCA pistol instructor qualification on demand, anytime.
– In addition, understand how to zero dot optics
3. NRA Range Safety Officer or CRSO Certification (required)
Rationale: This certification emphasizes safety management on the range, which is essential for maintaining a safe environment during group activities.
4. Rifle Instructor Qualification (required)
Rationale: Being certified to teach multiple types of firearms ensures a broad knowledge base and the ability to cater to diverse interests within the group
5. Instructor Insurance (required)
All Guydes must have and keep current an instructor insurance policy with at least $1M in coverage and at least $50K of rental coverage. Your policy must be sent to HQ every year upon renewal.
Recommended Certifications:
1. Shotgun Instructor Qualification
Rationale: Demonstrate an understanding of shotgun sports
2. State Certified License to Carry Instructor
Rationale: This certification is fundamental for understanding state laws and regulations related to firearm possession and use, which is crucial for instructing others safely and legally.
3. USCCA Conceal Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals Instructor (CCHDF) or NRA Pistol Instructor
Rationale: This certification focuses on practical defensive skills and legal considerations for concealed carry and home defense, aligning with the group’s emphasis on responsible firearm use. Since each of these instructor certifications emphasize different aspects of firearms ownership, they are very complementary and offer a lot of options for education and classes.
4. USCCA Emergency First Aid Fundamentals Instructor or other First-Aid Certification
Rationale: Knowledge of first aid is critical for addressing potential injuries during shooting activities, ensuring the well-being of all members. This also gives members a lot of confidence in the group Guyde.
5. Optional but very helpful: advanced pistol certifications such as NRA PPITH/PPOTH/CCW, Rangemaster, USCCA DSF or DPP.
